We welcome visitors with assistance animals. As a conservation facility for endangered wildlife, certain measures are in place for the health and safety of our resident animals, staff and other visitors. If planning a visit with an assistance animal, please contact the sanctuary at least 48 hours prior so that staff can be notified.
The sanctuary shop is located at the main entrance. Don’t miss the chance to purchase unique sanctuary memorabilia; it’s the best way to remember your experience. There is also a small range of Tasmanian packaged foods available at the gift shop.

You do not require a Tasmanian National Park Pass to visit Devils@Cradle. We are located 800m before the boundry to the Cradle Mountain -Lake St Clair National Park entrance.
You are able to drive to Devils@Cradle, we do offer parking onsite for cars and campervans. However, campervans that exceed 12m will need to contact us to discuss alternative options as we cannot accommodate such large vehicles.
Unfortunately we do not provide a pick up and/or drop off service. Visitors are required to make their own way to Devils@Cradle.
We do accept cash and all major card companies, including American Express, VISA, Mastercard & Debit. We also accept contactless payment by card and/or apple pay.

You do not need to book a tour to enter Devils@Cradle. We welcome visitors for General Entry anytime between 9:30am – 5:00pm. Please note that the recommended last admission by staff is 4:30pm.
Our tours do operate in ALL weather conditions. Please be prepared for the conditions the day of your tour. Bad weather may include heavy rain, wind and snow. Sensible footwear is also recommended in our facility.
The only rare exception to a tour not operating is in the case of a SEVERE weather event or if visitor safety is of concern.
We are CLOSED on Christmas Day. As much as we love our resident animals, we love to spend time with our families too. Normal operations will resume at 9:30am on the 26th December.
There is no difference between these two tours apart from the starting and finishing times.
We offer a 5:30pm After Dark Feeding tour all year around (excluding Christmas Day). However, within peak visitation periods, we also offer an 8:30pm After Dark Feeding tour to optimise booking availability and to avoid visitor disappointment.
Tasmania has very short winter days and very long summer days, so while the tour name is the After Dark Feeding Tour, during the middle of daylight savings this tour is more of a twilight/afternoon experience. That said, having this daylight does not change the tour experience, and the animals will be equally as active and interested in their food, regardless of how much daylight there is.
As Devils@Cradle is located within an alpine environment, conditions in the area are typically cool and wet. This does mean that our resident animals are accustomed to this weather and will therefore be visible under these conditions. Whilst self-guiding affords plenty of viewing opportunities, joining a guided tour is typically recommended for the best experience as you will have a keeper with you.
Children aged 3 and under are free of charge and do not require a ticket, they are however welcome on all tours and experiences. If you are booking in advance, we just ask that you make a note with your booking that you will be bringing infant(s) with you. If booking through our website, you are able to select infant tickets with your booking.
Yes, we do accept Companion Cards. To obtain this ticket for the carer, we ask that the Companion Card holder or their carer contacts Devils@Cradle via email and/or phone. This way we are able to explain how to book online or we are able to take your booking over the phone.
If you wish to visit for General Entry to explore at your own leisure, please present your Companion Card to reception upon arrival.
We acknowledge the palawa people as the traditional custodians of this island – lutruwita, we respect their cultural connection to the land we work on today and honour Aboriginal Elders past and present.
