Bio: 

The Kraken was born at a Tasmanian government-run breeding facility and transferred to us before last years breeding season as part of the Save the Tasmanian Devil Program. We can’t take credit for her name, but it is certainly a staff favourite!

The Kraken well and truly lives up to her name. By day she is as calm and tranquil as Wineglass Bay, by night she is as wild as the Bass Straight. When food comes, she turnes into a not-so-little  monster, devouring everything in sight within minutes and no man nor beast can stop her!

Her fiery nature doesn’t just come out at feed time, she has also been proven to be a bit of a handful at breeding time for our poor boys and for a good reason. During her first breeding season, she was paired with a male who was a little too rough with her and injured the back of her neck. Her injuries have healed well, but it has resulted in a unique white mottled pattern on her neck that makes her stand out.

Please note: As part of the breeding programs we are involved with, we are required to transfer breeding animals annually to partnering facilities, therefore we cannot guarantee that your adopted animal will stay at our sanctuary for the duration of your adoption, or it’s lifespan.

Processing Times: 

Please allow 2-5 business days for processing of both digital and hard copy adoption packs.

Postage Times:

Devils@Cradle is located in a very remote area in Tasmania’s alpine wilderness. It may be up to a week before a staff member can reach the nearest post office, and there may be times when roads are cut off by ice and snow. For these reasons, please allow extra time for postage. If you need to receive your adoption pack sooner, please email us at info@devilsatcradle.com and we will try our best to accommodate.
