Bio:

Our very affectionate Bare-Nosed Wombat, Pancake, was orphaned in 2017 as a result of a tragic car accident. She was fortunate enough to arrive at our sanctuary for some much needed care and love, which she received in abundance! As a result of trauma from being orphaned, she’s had a few bumps in the road to recovery and therefore has spent a significant amount of time being handled and treated. She’s grown to be a very loving, playful and friendly sub-adult, however is much smaller in stature than her wild counterparts. For these reasons, she is not a suitable candidate for release and will be staying in our care for the duration of her life. Pancake’s gentle nature has made her a highlight on many of our tours. When she was younger, she loved nothing more than a good snuggle with her keepers.

Pancake is now nearly seven years old and has started showing signs of being a proper wombat. She spends a lot of time underground, and has recently decided she is too old for cuddles. She may not be a star of our Joey Encounters anymore, but Pancake can still be seen in her enclosure when she’s up for a sunbake or looking for food.

Postage Times:

Devils@Cradle is located in a very remote area in Tasmania’s alpine wilderness. It may be up to a week before a staff member can reach the nearest post office, and there may be times when roads are cut off by ice and snow. For these reasons, please allow extra time for postage.
